What is WorkSafeBC rehabilitation?
WorkSafeBC (formerly known as WCB or the Workers' Compensation Board) is British Columbia's workplace health and safety agency. When a worker is injured on the job, WorkSafeBC may fund rehabilitation services to help them recover and return to work safely.
WorkSafeBC rehabilitation typically includes physiotherapy, active rehabilitation, massage therapy and other approved treatments. The focus is on restoring function, building work-specific strength and coordinating a safe, sustainable return to your job.
Revive Rehab regularly treats workers with accepted WorkSafeBC claims. The team understands the documentation, communication and rehabilitation processes involved in workplace injury recovery.
What to do after a workplace injury
Report the injury to your employer
Let your supervisor or employer know about the injury as soon as possible. They need to file an employer report with WorkSafeBC.
Seek medical attention
Visit a doctor, walk-in clinic or hospital to have your injury assessed and documented. Your physician's report is part of the claims process.
File your worker report
Complete a worker report with WorkSafeBC. This can be done online through the WorkSafeBC portal or by phone.
Wait for claim acceptance
WorkSafeBC reviews the employer and worker reports along with medical documentation to determine whether the claim is accepted.
Begin rehabilitation
Once your claim is accepted, book an assessment at Revive Rehab. Bring your claim number, employer details and any medical documentation.
