What to know
Whalley has one of the densest urban cores in Surrey, with high rise living, heavy SkyTrain commuter traffic, and a large newcomer and senior population, and that mix brings a distinct set of patients into physiotherapy sessions with Mukul Kaushik, a registered physiotherapist at our Scott Road clinic. Balance and mobility concerns show up noticeably more often here than in surrounding suburbs, alongside the usual back and neck pain, since a large share of Whalley residents rely on walking and transit rather than driving for daily errands.
Older adults managing balance and fall risk concerns, commuters with posture related neck and shoulder tension from standing on transit for long periods, and anyone recovering from a fall or a collision are among the most common patients Mukul sees from Whalley. Assessments focus on the specific movement pattern behind the pain rather than a generic exercise sheet, and for balance concerns specifically, treatment includes targeted strength and proprioception work aimed at reducing fall risk in daily life, not just easing pain after the fact. Newcomer families and seniors navigating the healthcare system for the first time are also given clear, plain language explanations of their diagnosis and treatment plan at every visit.
Collisions along Scott Road and King George Boulevard are common given how much traffic moves through this part of Surrey. ICBC Enhanced Care pre approves 25 physiotherapy sessions within 12 weeks of a crash, billed directly at no cost to you, and WorkSafeBC claims for workplace injuries are handled the same way.
The clinic is a short SkyTrain ride or drive from central Whalley, with free visitor parking and evening appointment slots that work well around a commuting or shift work schedule.

Jinder Hoonjan
Registered Physiotherapist
Jinder graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 and has since developed extensive experience helping patients manage pain, recover from injury, and improve their physical function. Her philosophy centres around active rehabilitation. Jinder believes that hands-on treatment can be an important part of recovery, but lasting progress also comes from restoring strength, movement, and confidence, and her treatments commonly combine manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, and individualized exercise prescription. She is also certified in acupuncture and may incorporate it into a patient's treatment plan when appropriate. She works collaboratively with patients to establish achievable rehabilitation goals and progressively build toward them, focusing not simply on short-term symptom relief but on helping patients regain the ability to participate more comfortably in work, recreation, exercise, and everyday life. Outside of the clinic, Jinder enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and being outdoors.

Harpriya combines hands-on techniques with exercise-based rehabilitation and education. She begins by assessing how a patient's symptoms are affecting their movement and daily activities and then builds treatment around the findings of that assessment, with a particular interest in helping patients understand their condition rather than simply treating symptoms. Harpriya continues to pursue professional education and broaden her clinical skills so she can offer patients a range of treatment options appropriate to their condition and recovery goals. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, experiencing different cultures, and spending time with family and friends. She is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
