IV Education Resource
Read an overview of our clinical safety standards, sterile protocols, and patient screening processes at Revive Rehab.
Safety is the foundation of every clinical service we provide. Because Intravenous (IV) Therapy introduces fluids and nutrients directly into the vascular system, maintaining strict sterile protocols and screening criteria is essential.
When administered by qualified healthcare professionals in a controlled environment, IV therapy is a safe wellness support option. Understanding our safety standards can help you feel confident throughout your session.
Intravenous procedures require baseline physiological screening to protect your renal and cardiovascular systems. Every treatment begins with a mandatory clinical evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
We do not administer IV infusions without a thorough pre-treatment evaluation. During this consultation, a qualified clinician reviews your medical history, current medications, allergies, and physical health history.
We check vital signs like blood pressure and heart rate to ensure your cardiovascular system can safely handle the fluid volume. We also assess for contraindications like chronic kidney disease or severe heart failure, where fluid loading could be harmful.
To eliminate the risk of vascular infection, we strictly follow aseptic techniques. Every needle, catheter, fluid bag, and tubing line we use is medical-grade, sterile, and single-use. The insertion site on your skin is thoroughly sanitized using professional antiseptic wipes before venipuncture.
All infusions are prepared and administered by qualified clinicians who are fully trained in intravenous access, sterile technique, and emergency protocols.
While serious complications are extremely rare, minor side effects can occur at the insertion site. These include temporary localized bruising, mild swelling, or tenderness. These reactions are typically harmless and resolve within a few days.
In rare cases, patients may experience mild lightheadedness, which is easily managed by adjusting the flow rate and ensuring you are well-hydrated and have eaten before your appointment.
Clinical screening is mandatory before your first infusion. Book your initial consultation online for our Surrey (Chimney Hill) or Langley (Willoughby) clinics.
Please bring any recent blood panel results or prescriptions to your initial session.
