IV Education Resource
Review our clinical process so you know exactly what to expect from the moment you arrive at our clinic to your aftercare.
If you are considering your first Intravenous (IV) Therapy session, it is natural to have questions about the procedure. At Revive Rehab, we prioritize patient comfort, safety, and clinical excellence.
Our IV sessions are conducted in a clean, professional clinical setting by qualified healthcare staff. We ensure you are fully informed and comfortable at every stage of your appointment, from initial screening to post-care guidance.
Intravenous procedures require baseline physiological screening to protect your renal and cardiovascular systems. Every treatment begins with a mandatory clinical evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional.
Before we prepare any IV solution, you will sit down with a qualified clinician for a screening. This is a mandatory safety step. We will review your health history, current medications, allergies, and recent physical activities.
We will also check your baseline vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature. This screening ensures that IV fluid administration is safe for your cardiovascular and renal systems.
Once cleared for treatment, you will be seated in a comfortable treatment chair. Your clinician will sanitize the insertion site on your arm using a sterile alcohol or chlorhexidine wipe. They will then perform a gentle venipuncture to insert a sterile, single-use catheter.
You may feel a brief pinch during insertion, but the needle is immediately removed, leaving only a soft, flexible plastic tube in the vein. The catheter is secured with medical tape, and the IV line is connected to begin the flow.
The infusion will run for approximately 45 to 60 minutes. During this time, you can read, work on your laptop, listen to music, or simply relax. It is common to feel a cold sensation in your arm or a temporary vitamin taste in your mouth—these are completely normal reactions.
Once the fluid is fully administered, the clinician will disconnect the line, gently remove the catheter, and apply a small compression bandage to prevent bruising. We will review simple aftercare tips and ensure you feel well before you leave.
Clinical screening is mandatory before your first infusion. Book your initial consultation online for our Surrey (Chimney Hill) or Langley (Willoughby) clinics.
Please bring any recent blood panel results or prescriptions to your initial session.
