What to know
UDistrict, built up around the University of the Fraser Valley campus, sends a steady stream of students and faculty to Dr. Alex Sattar's chiropractic practice — a coincidence made easier by the fact that Dr. Sattar studied kinesiology at UFV himself before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic in Portland. Long study sessions and lecture-hall seating create a familiar pattern of neck and upper back stiffness.
What Causes Study-Related Neck Pain and Headaches?
Hours hunched over a laptop or textbook rounds the upper back and juts the head forward, straining the muscles at the base of the skull. This is a common driver of tension headaches that painkillers only mask rather than resolve.
Who Should Book From UDistrict?
Students with recurring neck stiffness or study-related headaches, faculty and staff with desk-related back pain, and anyone new to the area without an established local chiropractor are common patients here.
How Long Does Treatment Take?
Most study-posture stiffness responds within a handful of visits. Results hold better when paired with small changes to study setup, which Dr. Sattar reviews with you directly.
How Much Does a Visit Cost?
Cost depends on assessment type. Revive Rehab confirms coverage under extended health and student benefit plans before your visit and bills the covered portion directly.

Dr. Alex Sattar
Chiropractor
I was raised in Abbotsford since moving from the Philippines when I was 6 years old. I am proud to call this community home after all these years. Sports has been a big part of my life and I wanted to continue with that connection with sports as I got older. I have played football for almost 21 years and counting. Ranging from high school to the Canadian Junior Football League to now touch football on weekends. I also play tennis and have recently picked cycling as a new hobby. Having been in sports for so many years I have met a lot of Chiropractors. That is why I made the decision to become a Chiropractor. I graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with my Bachelor of Kinesiology and then went to the University of Western States in Portland where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science as well as my Doctor of Chiropractic. As a chiropractor I look at the body as a whole. We have always been told that everything is connected, and that statement definitely is true. I work a lot of the soft tissues the move our body as well as adjusting the many bones that hold our body together. I use many techniques to work on soft tissues such as Cupping, Pin and stretching, and massage. I can adjust the spine or other parts of the body manually or mobilize the joints depending on patient preference.
